Default L stamp on crane

Howdy folks,
Just picked up a 70's era model 34-1.
A kit gun.
Its pretty clean , a good shooter.
I noticed an L stamp in the crane.
Wondering if that has anything to do with something other than the manufacturing process.

Almost impossible to say for sure without a photo.

Most likely a fitter's, asspembler's or inspector's stamp.

Yes, that makes sense.
I found another L on the cylinder face.
Likely the guy that fit the crane and cylinder to the frame...
Always a bit loose .
But its got a nice cylinder /cone gap , so I can't complain.
I'll have to fork out for an earlier one to see if any came out the
factory that were a bit tighter.
Its an accurate little gun...
