Boy, that sure is a pretty piece ya got there!
Yeah, I said the same thing, until last month when I stumbled upon this exceptional 3.5” 27-2 for $999, $920 after discounts.
Now I really mean it, no more N frames!

I have a nickeled model 29-2 and a nickeled 27-2. The finish goes good with rosewood or Goncalo Alves.

You had me going there for a minute Xfuzz...
I was really wondering what could possibly cause you to swear off N-Frames!
Nice new addition to the collection!

I've been saying to myself "just one more and I'm done" for the past 50 years. Has not always worked out that way. Beautiful gun. Thanks for showing.

Very nice .44 Magnum, Xfuzz...and a beautiful view! I have a 6" nickel 29-2 from the same year. There's not much of a turn ring, so that baby probably hasn't been fired very often. If I were you and I was going to shoot it, I think that I would consider swapping out those stocks before shooting that little hand cannon. Those magnas wouldn't provide much to hold on to! I swap out my GA target stocks for some Pachmayrs when taking my 4" to the range. Enjoy!

That's a beautiful gun and 4" too.
I've only had two in nickel.
One of them was this 8 3/8" 1982 M27-2 Transitional 27-2
For some reason it didn't do anything for me so I sold it.
My second nickel was this 1968 "S" 6" M27-2.
One of the dirtiest guns I ever acquired.
Someone enjoyed shooting but not cleaning.
For some reason I didn't enjoy shooting it. Weird.
So I sold it too.

Some guy I know had a 28-2 8+3/8" that was electroless nickeled. I don't know who did it, but it looked great. If it had been a shorter barreled gun, I would have bought it, but I really didn't need another 28-2, silver or blued. Yes, the gun came with that barrel on it, it was listed on the box. Of course, it was blued originally. If only it was a 4", I wouldn't even have tried to haggle, I would have just given him the $750 he wanted for it. Some other friend of his bought it.

A while back, when I said that the revolver I was buying was the last S&W for me, I was laughed at by the staff of the gun store. I knew I was asking for it the moment the words passed my lips, but it was pretty funny.
But: My prediction is still holding true!
