At a gun show two weeks ago and picked up a Model 29-2, 4"bbl in nickel for $475.00 out the door. The nickel had a few scratches on it, but nothing that can't be polished out with Flitz or Mothers. Grips appear to be original with no box or papers. Action is tight with no endshake, pushoff, etc.

I was thinking I did OK, but suddenly I see all these postings regarding nickel model 29's with a higher value than I would have expected.

So what's up with the value of the nickel model 29-2's when compared to the blue ones, and how much are these going for right now?

Thanks in advance!

Marc

Hey Marc1911, sounds like you did very well on the price of that 29. I think ANY N frame is going up in value. The nickel 29-2 4 inch I posted was the last 29 I found for my little collection and the one I paid the most for.

Now take a picture and share!

I sold one a few months back in the condition you describe (a few scratches, no box, etc.) for $575, so I believe you did well at $475. The high prices are for the 99%+ ones in orignal boxes...$750+
