Default Question on a 4-screw pre-model 10?

Yesterday, I purchased a 4-screw pre-model 10 (C 39009X) in blue steel and a 5-inch barrel. I believe the original S&W service grips, for the time period, are correct to the gun, and were with it at the time of purchase (275$). This purchase was made from one of my favorite pawn shops here in Columbus. The factory blue was about 90% and I'll be posting a picture of it later for those that love the M&P's. My two questions is this;

Were the 4-screw M&P's a limited production?
The front sight is ramped and grooved and 1/8th" thick. The modern front sight for the Model 10's with tapered barrels. Does that sound right for this 4-screw? Any other info shared would be appreciated on this Military & Police .38 Service Revolver. Thanks in advance!
David

I just happen to have a 4 screw gun like yours. 5" barrel sn C407xxx. The non model marked 4 screw guns were made for a shorter amount of time than the model marked ones were. I have a model 10, sn. C488xxx. Seems like it can't be a whole lot of them left just floating around in such a narrow range. If that makes them more valueable, I just don't know.

I don't know if you can call any Model 10 "limited" as this was their most produced model. Some are less common than others but I don't think any are particularly rare.
