Went to pick up my new-to-me Model 31-1 this afternoon (sorry, no pics yet - camera battery died!) and while waiting, looked at a Model 15 (didn't check for a dash) in what I thought was stainless... but now I think it might be satin nickel..
Poor little thing! Dirty! ratty ol' pachmyers... and a little overpriced, I suspect (consignment sale)... but a nice trigger...
Any thoughts on the Mod. 15? what it might be worth? (doesn't look scratched up)... what vintage they made the satin nickel?
Thanks.

Hi, I was just looking at some model 15's my self...I would estimate them going anywhere from $350-500 depending on the condition box or no box barrel length and finish. Nickle being a little higher. If you are looking at a Nickle model 15 with 4" barrel in great condition with box and paperwork I would say $450.00...with out the box and paperwork $400.00

According to the book about 20 15's were made in stainless. If it is one of those, it would be very rare.

Satin nickel would be an aftermarket finish on a Model 15.

Look at the hammer and trigger. If they're still case harden colored, it's nickel (or chrome...). If the hammer and trigger are the same color as the rest of the gun, it's also probably nickeled (not factory). If the hammer and trigger are silver, but not the same color as the rest of the gun (the hammer and trigger are kinda blue-ish white), then the gun is stainless (the hammer and trigger are hard-chromed).

I think Buff is right...they only made them in Bright Nickel.

arghh! now I'm wracking my brains trying to remember the color of the hammer and trigger! I think it was case hardened, but I'm not sure... I guess I'll have to go back up Saturday and take another look... that satin nickel is kind of a funny looking finish at first glance especially when it is covered with crud - looks sturdy though (I'm thinking it won't vanish out of the case too quickly for the price)
