I am trying really hard to become a S&W revolver owner, but twice now I have had to reject a gun from Davidson's. The first time the M&P 360 had a scratch in the black finish. The next time the trigger was outside of the trigger guard. Hopefully three is the charm. Davidson's told my retailer that the manufacturers are just sending out massive amounts of guns right now because of Obama, and they are letting QA slide. Hope I can be happy like the most of you with my new revolver soon. Luckily I am dealing with Davidson's and their free replacement policy.

S&W quality control is slipping as much as any other manufacturer here in America. Seems to be the norm of late. Everyone here like's their products, but flawed products do leave the factory. Good luck on your purchase.

Too bad, but it does happen. Three will be the charm.

Stick with the vintage models (Pre-Lock).
In 40 years I have never had an issue.

I have three Smiths...one made in 98, one in 88, and one in 72 (like new and fired little if any)......The 72 is very nice...very high quality, as is the one made in 88. The 98, was lacking the quality of the other two in fit and finish, and the trigger was horrendous! Nothing that hasnt been taken care of, but, it could have been better. I had the opportunity to inspect the fit, and trigger on a very old M&P, that was well worn and looked like it had seen better days.....If only Smiths quality today was what it was the!!!! The M&P's trigger was the smoothest, sweetest trigger I have ever felt, and the action, and lock up was still tight as a drum....unbelievable!!!!
