It has been a good week. I picked up a 1989 nickel S&W Model 38 on Saturday, and this afternoon found a mid-1970s S&W Model 34-1 (22 lr - square butt). I always carry a snub nose revolver, but it can get expensive to practice with .38 Special. The Model 34 is underpowered for self-defense but great for target practice. It is just loads of fun to shoot. With the exception of reduced recoil, the feel and trigger pull is much like the .38 special revolvers. I have a Model 34-2 (the round butt also pictured below) and put more than 6000 rounds through it in 3 months. That would have cost a fortune in .38 special ammo. It is hard to find Model 34s with the 2” barrel. Enjoy…

Here it is with a Tyler T-Grip

Here is the mid-70s M34-1 square butt with the well used but still beautiful M34-2 round butt.

Nice find. I remember looking for a long time for one like your round-butt gun. Cool little guns.
