Now that I have my 686 SSR on order I need to get my belt and holster set up.

What do you guys use as far as belt rigs for your revolvers? Show me some pictures if you have em!

I have several K frame snubbies that I carry, and I like a high riding pancake holster for this. The English company Price Western Leather (with distributor in Atlanta) makes some very nice holsters of this type. Here is my model 19 in a PWL holster, and my model 66 in the same holster:

Sparkyshooter;
I suspect you are looking for information on IDPA SSR rigs?
I use a Shado holster, very inexpensive but pretty good quality. Speed loader holders are a problem right now I'll be watching for advice as well.

A good belt is probably as important as the holster.

I use Safariland #3s and have nothing but praise for them. I've seen jet loaders, they look Ok but I understand they are pretty expensive and no better than Safariland.

Holsters

K&D Holsters' Eagle Defenders for N and K frames

K&D Holsters' Cochise Defender (inside the waist holster) for K frames

My belts are from The Beltman or from Wilderness Tactical.

Here is my TT Guleather for my model 29-2 3". Have since upgraded from the 511 belt to a HBE. Wish I had the skills to make my own as they are very classy rigs you guys have fabricated.

Sparky,

You should look at the Safariland Model 567 Adjuster for the L-Frame. The EXACT model number is 567-09-411. It fits a wide variety of guns including Pythons, L-Frames, K-Frames, Security Six, GP-100, etc.

Are you shooting IDPA or similar matches? It is a GREAT range holster and can be easily made into a good concealment holster for everyday wear. The speedloaders I use for competition is the Safariland COMP III or COMP II for concealment.

Just a thought!

A 3" S&W Model 610-2 in a J.W. O'Rourke pancake.

It gets mounted on a 1.5" Looper Leather kydex lined belt.

Sparky my boy, I never wear the claws while hunting. Only when dancing naked around the campfire.

You guys are carrying in style.

A couple of you asked if I was looking specifically for IDPA SSR competition rigs. I hope to have a practice rig together by the end of the year.

keith44spl-what's the specs on the engraved N frame? Who did it and what was the reason for carrying such a beautiful weapon? Job? Pleasure? The rig looks like it has a lot of honest wear on it.

Very nice looking Rafter rig! I've got a Rafter holster on order right now for a Colt Mustang, it should be here soon.

Here's a vintage carved floral holster with a nickle model 36 no dash:

Some SAA action: Custom Ruger .357 New Vaq in a Big Ed holster on a canvas belt from San Pedro Saddlery. Gratuitous custom .357 Rossi 92 in the background, both guns courtesy of Steve's Guns, Port Arthur, Texas.

Just curious, Dan M., have you taken out a second mortgage to buy BBQ clothes to match your spectacular gun rig?? Boots to match the set will probably set you back $10,000 or so...

Hey John,

I wont be wearing this rig unless I can loose about 200 lbs. It was made for those 1930's small skinny guys. It seems the stars have aligned on Gold/Ruby/Nickle in my little corner of the Universe. I found another complete set of the Identicle Hardware on EBay this weekend and will have to have a Belt Made that I can wear out of it.

Is that a 1917 sling your using for a belt?

it's an belt Bianchi made for L.L. Bean about 30 years ago. Was advertised as the Springfield belt. My wife bought it out of the catalog.

Can you believe I've had to move it out to the next looser set of holes since I first got it? Must be defective or something.

I feel great then about the conspiricy, because I keep having to cut new notches in my belts. But then Leather stretches doesn't it
