Take a model 60. Leave it in its holster in a drawer and leave it there for 2 weeks after an entire house is flooded by a hurricane, and, this is what you get.
And the kicker is..it worked. I have been getting a chance to work on some OLD and neglected guns here lately. Specifically this model 60 and a 36 that has been under the seat of a truck for 10-15 years or so. The 36 was damned near as rusty as this 60, it took me 15 minutes to get the cylinder open, but, it still worked.
Both guns are now in pretty good shape. The 60 looks new. The 36 looks like you would expect, some pitting, alot of blue loss and they both are mechanically perfect with no parts, just a cleaning vat for a few hours and a brush.
The stone cold reliabilty of the Smith revolver never ceases to amaze me. And these are just J frames, I have seen K's that I would be certain couldn't get off a single shot, much less a cylinder full.
