Put me down as a fan of the Mika pocket holster, too. My old Model 36 is always with me but I seem not to notice it in my pocket.

Occasionally, I'll also have my old Charter Arms Undercover in a Galco Ankle Glove just for good measure.

And when the mood strikes me I'll put the 36 in an old Tex Shoemaker belt holster.

front pocket, Galco Horsehide. OWB, Galco Combat Master. OWB rides high and close, good enough retention. Horse Hide, stays put no matter what. Galco is a bit spendy but my life and the lives of my family are worth it.

For now my two favorite holsters are these two.

But since I do custom leatherwork my favorite may change in the near future.

My mdl 37 no dash rides in a Remora IWB which also works as a pocket holster. I carry it every day "appendix carry" and hardly know it's there.

First, pocket holsters. El Paso Saddlery first and foremost. But there are lots of choices out there depending on what you want to spend and what your style of dress is, i.e., jeans versus shorts versus dress slacks, etc.

Next, any OWB belt holster that mimics a Milt Sparks Summer Special - or just get one of those. Galco, El Paso, Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, as long as it's top quality leather and has those belt loops you're good to go.

IWB is a little different; I still try to get holsters that mimic Summer Specials, though, from the same folks I named.

Wink It depends.............

Around the farm here I carry my 37 airweight in an old Brauer Bros. It rids a little bit lower than the Bianchi 5BH that I usually carry out and about. Sometimes if I have to go to events that frown on CCW, I will use the Uncle Mikes cheapie IWB.

I misspoke a little......Summer Specials are IWB holsters. What I meant was a quality leather holster with high quality leather belt loops.

I have two holsters for my Model 49 made by Simply Rugged that are excellent. I would take a look at what they have to offer Great quality, great price.

I just ordered a Galco horse hide pocket holster for those times I don't OWB. Seems to have good reviews, and supposedly you can't go wrong with horse hide. Time will tell....

This Lobo OWB is my EDC rig. It's been awesome so far.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some different grips. Not liking these rubber grips for CC.

I've got me a new favorite. After I made a pancake snubby holster for a client, I just had to make one for myself.

My 2 LOBO horsehide offset clips IWB.

I have with and without the hammer shield, I like the hammer shield even though they get used the most for my centennial and humpback. Mostly appendix IWB under an un-tucked shirt this time of year.

I use one of two holsters for my 642 depending on how I carry.

In Summer, I pocket carry, and use an Uncle Mike's #3. Nice and thin, and only about 10 bucks.

In colder weather, I like to carry OWB at about the 4:00 position with a cover garment. When carried this way, I use a Don Hume JIT Slide and it works very well. They run about 25 bucks.

DeSantis Nemesis, mostly. Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster when the day's pants pocket works better with it. I pocket carry the year around.

Most of the time I pocket carry. But, every time I wear this Safariland Model 568 "Molded Custom Fit Pistol Holster" with paddle . . . I like it even better.

The funny looking, semi-transparent sweat shield was easy to add. It was cut from a thin polypropylene CD case and is sandwiched between the paddle and holster using the original paddle mounting screws. If you don't plan to wear this holster under a bicycle jersey for hot rides in the Arizona, you won't need a sweat shield.

A Renegade ankle holster, or a couple of rubber bands wrapped around the grip, and carried Mexican style. Some other old timers will remember that.

RKBA Holsters for a great pocket holster that is $45 shipped. I like it the best of all the pocket holsters for a J-frame snubbie. The side facing away is just a featureless, curved piece of rough side out leather.

Foreground is an R Grizzle Leather Georgia Snap holster in horsehide for an OWB option in cooler weather.

Those Uncle Mikes Inside The Pocket holsters ("ITP") are great but UM started having some quality issues when they closed shop in Idaho and began having them made in Vietnam. The stitching up near the trigger guard was just not right.

I do not know if they ever resolved that.

Blackhawk picked up the location, employees, etc. upon UM's Vietnam endeavor and began making the things that UM had been making.

There were not any issues with the Blackhawk ITP size 3 holsters.

I would lean toward Blackhawk to save you trouble IF you buy one.

I recently bought this and am very happy with it.

If my beer gut would allow comfortable IWB, this is the rig I would choose. That offset clip makes a sweet thin holster setup.

I just got a Uncle Mike's inside the pocket holster (size 3). Wow, I like it much better than the DeSantis Nemesis I had. Smaller, soft & fits nicely inside the front pocket of various pant styles I have, including jeans...and, most importantly, conceals the outline of my S&W 638.
Definitely worth the $13 I paid on Ebay.

Bought a couple Mikas pocket holsters a few years ago. Very durable. Still in good condition after a lot of use.

My newest favorite. I'm sure it won't be the last.

My favorite J frame is a pre model 36 flat latch.

Made it myself for my 360PD. Works as an IWB and front pocket in cargo shorts. It has had almost daily use since 2008.

Mark Fedders at Lobo Gun Leather made this Enhanced Pancake with 1 3/4" loops. I've worn it daily for nearly a month -- it's perfect at four o'clock (and all other times, too).

I like these Bianchi (made in USA) holsters.

For both two and three inch barreled M-60's, Bianchi Model 5L and old Safariland that I think is a model 16. El Paso Model 2, about like the old Safariland M-29, which I use in larger versions for K and N-frame guns. My best of the larger Safariland brand has green suede lining and basketweave stamping. My smaller J-frame from El Paso is also lined and basketweave.

I have one that looks like a thumbsnap Gaylord rig, from a maker called Mixon. (Not Nixon.) I called them once and they were uncooperative and I was unable to learn anything about the firm. I can therefore not recommend them. The one used example that I bought at a gun show is a good holster. Still, there are so many nice and cooperative holster makers that I see no reason to recommend one that is secretive and condescending.

The inside the pants models are from Bianchi.
