Default The S&W 14-2 and 15-3 difference.

Hello
I would like to know what is the difference in these 2 revolvers. There is a 14-2 in 90% condition for $450.00 shipped to my door. The gun is from 1968. Is that a good gun to buy for 450.00. Has a 6'' barrel. Both guns look the same to me. Thanks very much.

George.

That is a good price. Buy it. The Model 14 normally had a 6 inch barrel, except for some special orders by police departments, etc. The Model 15 normally had a 4 inch barrel. Both have adjustable rear sights. The 14-2 has a heavier barrel than the 15-3, which is more tapered and slender. Both shoot very well. You really cannot go wrong with either one, but if you want one for target shooting, go with the longer barrel.
