Presentation box deteriorating inside
The wooden presentation box that came with my 27-2 has all the blue stuff flaking off the plastic liner support for the gun and off the foam in the lid. Is there a cure for this?
Anyone tried any hobby stuff or just used real cloth?
Other than that it looks great

opaul...there use to be someone here on the forum that re-flocked the interior of the presentation cases, hopefully somebody will chime in with the info. Those interiors usually didn't last to long. The worst thing is that people would leave the gun in the case for years, resulting is the infamous right side rust freckling.
How about a picture of the new arrival??

Here is one for a 4 inch N-frame JCElect brought back from the dead - both inside and outside - for me several years ago. It was in ptetty bad shape when he got it.
Outstanding work, reasonable prices, and a good man to deal with. He has many satisfied folks on this forum.

Question, is the tool recess area covered with a lid on the originals? I've never seen one and it looks really nice.

Some of them are like the ones pictured that were later issued presentation cases and others had grooves for the tools to sit in.

My tool recess had the cover as shown when it was new, circa 1979.
I'll throw in another vote for Joe. No need to re-invent the wheel here. He's done the work to find the right material, adhesives and techniques.

The presentation with the compartment and cover for the accessories was introduced in 1979 and used until 1985. The photo below shows this type of case with its original lining (if I put a revolver in the case, the lining would fall apart).

Whats the use in having it if you never put a revolver in it?

I saved the case as an unaltered example so collectors can see what an original looks like. I have other cases that have been redone by Joe Cebull for my 629s. Besides, if I put a gun in it, it would fall apart and have to be redone.
I also have an original case from 69-74 that has never had a revolver in it. Same reasoning applies.

Thanks guys. I guess I should have put my before and after pics here but I started a new thread
The tab to the lid looks like a S&W logo button wonder where I could get one of those.
