I just picked up my Mod 60-4 3"full lug bbl. It is .38spl only. It is not the same one you are looking at. The Mod 60, in the Pro series is .357/.38spl. Those are one fine revolver. I don't own one, but do own 2 Mod 60's. Great guns.

I do.It is the only handgun I have purchased in my life.I've had it for a week. Will get out soon
and see what my 60 year old eyes and trifocals
can do.I read this forum for many hours before
deciding on this choice.
Thanks
Mark

Excellent gun. If the Model 14 is the "Combat Masterpiece" then the 3" M-60 should be called the "Trail Masterpiece". In .357 it is the backpackers friend.

My 2 Mod 60's, one in a snub, and one a 3". The 3" is rated for +P+, In a small frame revolver, I don't think I will be shooting anything higher than +p, but it will handle it if I wanted to. A J frame in the current Mod 60 is rated for .357 mag. Sorry I will stick with my 686, for the magnum shooting. Talk about a handfull to shoot, or a lack there of. You would be a glutten for pain if you ask me to shoot mags in a J frame. Even +P+, would be somewhat painful.

I picked up a new Model 60-15 (stainless) w/ a 3" barrel in July. It came with S&W's "Hi-Viz" sights and their laminated Finger Groove Combat Grips (charcoal/ruby). It shoots as good as it looks. I have no problem shooting .357 Mag loads. I use it as my CCW when I'm out on our boat.

I just got my Pro last week, took it shooting this weekend and I'm very pleased. I agree it's the perfect trail gun.

While I don't have one "yet", I have shot one with both .38's and .357's and it handles the recoil very well. It is on my short list and would be the only S&W I would own newer than 1989.

If you are talking about the Pro slab side with the Trijicon night sight, yes I just bought one. Very impressed with this modification. The grips really set it off. Have not had time to test drive it yet. If it shoot as good as it looks it is really a nice find. I hope you all enjoy yours.

I have a 3" 60-15 and love it. It gets carried a lot, both in town and in the field. I find it a little tough with full magnum loads, but find the 125 grain .357 Remington Golden Sabres the perfect compromise between .38 +P and full-house magnums. I believe the 135 Speer Gold Dot magnums would serve the same purpose. Both are magnum 'light' cartridges.

My tiny wife has a 3" 60-15 .357. I call it the big little gun. I shoot it with full power 125 gr. Remington SJHPs and it whips *** like a full size gun. That little thing really puts 'em where I want them and fast. It may help that I have small hands, but the thing can really shoot. For her, I load it with light .38 wadcutters. It goes from mild to wild and like a 3" 65 is truly a great, versatile gun. It's powerful, fast and accurate enough for a belt gun, relatively light, and suitable for the pocket carry needs of some concealed carriers.
