A friend has a 586-2 he is thinking about selling. I have first chance at it. What would be a good price 4 inch about 95% 0r a little better. Don't have L-frames all mine are k-frames so haven't followed prices for l-frames. Thanks,
tbird

$350 would be a fair price for a 95% 586, just my .02 cents.

Bought a 98% 4" 586-3 with just a hint of blue wear on the bbl by the muzzle and perfect S&W Target stocks for 450 OTD two weeks ago. Gun appeared unfired except for proofing at the factory no turn line and no signs of marking on the recoil shield.

I agree with Marshal Tom, $400 or so depending on condition. For some reason, L-Frames still seem to be undervalued in the used gun market.

I assume that the finish is blue, not nickel. Also that it has its original stocks (Goncalo Alves Targets w/speedloader cutout).

Also assuming that there are no extras (like box, tools, ammo, holsters, speedloaders, etc.) to sweeten the deal.

Thanks, yes it is blued and he can not remember if he has the box or not. I 'll try 350 and work from there. Thanks again.

In Georgia, 586s are scarce for some reason, I just paid $400, for an 80% 4" 586. most have been $425-$475, one nib 6" $550

I bought a 6" 586 no dash off of gunbroker for 315 plus tax. Very well made gun, I was happy with the buy.

Around here the price would be $400 to $450 depending on what's with it and final condition.
