Is there any significance to the black colored emblem backs vs the lighter colored ones.
My 1969 vintage SB mdl 36 has the black.

Just curious.

The stock circle inserts (washers ) were blued stamped steel (except on stainless guns) until about 1973, when they were all switched to stamped stainless steel inserts.
