Had to pass on a good one today
I went by my favorite pawn shop today just messing around. The owner reached into the stash safe and pulled out a nickel Model 36 no dash with diamond grips. The gun is no kidding like new. My heart started beating faster but I had to be strong and leave it there. It was very, very nice. Like one of my buddies used to say "There are a lot more guns than $100 bills". Just can't buy them all. Lord knows I've tried.

I know what you mean, after a couple unplanned purchases lately, I am putting myself on a self-imposed gun purchase moratorium for a while.

You can always use the line my wife uses on me; "you won't believe how much money I saved at this sale!"

You can never pay too much for a gun although you might buy it too soon. I think older S&W's are a better investment than the stock market and other investments. I have several worth double or triple what I paid just a few years ago. Also, if thiings ever go south ammo will be the new gold standard.

Unfortunately, I too have had to leave a gun at the store.
I bought 2 this month & am broke as a 3 legged horse at the race.
I bought a new to me 65-2 (P&R'd) which was one of my grail guns.
and a 22lr/22mag convertible with a bird's head grip.
I'll post pics of the 65 when I get it.

You are not going to buy it so, why not let us know where it is and what the asking price is?. I thought that was part of what this forum is about, helping each other . Nick

Am almost glad that I am no longer at the LGS where I was working. A fair number of good Smiths always seemed to be floating through there and I just couldn't help myself far too many times......
In the 3 years I was there, as memory serves, I acquired a M63, M15, M14, M28, M29, K22, and about a dozen other non-Smiths and assorted long guns......

It won't help unless you are local. They are old school. No internet sales. He was asking $400 which was pretty fair. I think it could be had for $350
