Hi all! In honor of the reintroduction of the model 14, the best target revolver ever made, in S&W's classic revolver series, I say we have a K-38 photo thread! Show off your 14s and pre-14s. I'll start. Here's my recently acquired model 14-3 from 1972. It came with the target stocks:

Here's a 14-3 with a nice set of targets, box, docs and tools.
And a Mod 17-4 with a 14-4 with "service" grips.
And by-the-way bmcgilvray, that 8 & 3/8th Mod 14 is VERY cool.

Okay, a question for you smarter guys; my general understanding is that Model 15's (pre and post) had Baughman sights and the 14 Targets had Patridge front sights...was this not always the rule? I see many 14's shown on the forum that have Baughman front sights, what gives?

The simple answer is: "With S&W never say never, and never say always....."
As a rule of thumb, you are of course correct. Also as a general rule M14= 6" or 8" and M15=4".

JayCee, It actually didn't have any on it when I bought it but that was fine with me, I knew where I could find some grips.
45wheelgun, I really like your 4" 14-1. The grips on mine are wrong handed, just like me I think my inspiration was a 59 Ford Ranchero when I made them.
Bullet Bob, That's a purty one, nice lumber also.
I wonder how many K-383 Smithnut has. That oughta be a good picture!

I bought this 14-2 used for my birthday in 1985 in Chicago. It is in the K 7514xx range and has done well in many ISSF competitions.
A friend of mine borrowed it to win six competitions with it in one year and he has more guns than I do - but no model 14.
