Been doing some pre-Veteran's Day gun fondling and had this sweetie out. My question has to do with its trigger in single action fire, it's extremely light on the pull. I mean I don't have to do much more than tap it. The double action feels just about like all my other K-frames. I've never had a "trigger job" done on any of my weapons, does it sound like this has had one and it only affects the single action performance?

Most of my older, well used but not abused K frames have a single action trigger pull of 2 3/4#. Never modified.

If the hammer does not push off, its probably OK. If it pushs off or is otherwise abnormal, it needs professional attention.
Needless to say, only cock it when ready to fire at the target. (double action is recommended for defense)

OKFC05, thanks, I've checked the "push off" and it's not going anywhere. Reading the Model 19 thread going round, I also checked the mainspring screw and it's tight. I suspect I've simply got a well worn lady that I'll have to be careful with if I ever shoot it in single action. For the record, the only time I ever shoot a double action revolver in single mode to for checking the sights and/or aim. My training was always in double action, that's where I sit today, an extremely poor shooting double action guy!

What you see Blackcloud2 is "CRAFTMANSHIP" . That Frame was hand cut, and hand fitted. This is why alot of the old timers fuss so much about the new ones. You have been bit by the second S&W bug. The buget is going to hell in a hand basket now .
