I have a S&W 686-4pp, .357 magnum with Hogue Grips. I was thinking about geting a Safariland II speed loader

I would like to hear from anyone who has used these............

how well do they work
do the Hogue Grips interfere with the speed loader??

It depends on what you are going to use them for, competition or carry. they are a good speed loader for carry but for comp. go with the Comp 3

I've used comp 2s with a 686 for duty carry and they worked fine, I prefer the 2 to the 1 myself.

I don't care for Hogue grips so can't help you there.

Your links failed when I tried to open them.

I haven't used the Comp 3's, but with practice the Comp 2's are absolutely smooth and without bobble in my old 4" 686 six shooter wearing Hogue Pau Ferros.

The built in grooves in the Comp 2 lined my fingers up with the cylinder flutes, which helped me with the smoothness and speed. I seriously prefer these to the Comp 1's or HKS's for carry.

I greatly prefer the Comp ll over the comp 1. Too bad they never made the Comp 11 for the N frame. Never used the Comp 111 so cannot relate for competition. They are too big to carry for duty use. I have some comp 1's that I have been using for over 20 years, so they are a good value.
