I have a line on a Model 48. It was manufactured in 1977 and is in excellent shape both mechanically and finish. It has the target grips. The owner wants $400 for it. No box. I'm tempted. Seems to be a fair price. Any input?

That's a great price and they are tack drivers. Lots of fun to shoot.

Talk about serendipity. As soon as I posted this topic just a few minutes ago the seller called me and asked if I was still interested. As I was talking to him I got two responses in record time.

Yep I'm going to buy it. I've always wanted an M48. Something about a revolver shooting a 22 magnum.Especially a long barreled K frame. It's my first 8-3/8 inch model. Now if I can find a Model 53.
