I usually carry a 642, or a 60 when I carry a revolver.

I Mostly Carry a Model 642 No Dash In My Front Pocket in a Kramer Pocket Holster & My Model 940 when it can be concealed worn on my Hip in a Rafter S, Sahrkskin Rig, If I knew I was going somewere "Shady" I would probobly Grab my Beretta 92FS tucked IWB in a Milt Sparks with as many extra mags as Needed, I 've got 20+..
The Colt Gold Cup is Just For Fun.. Never Carried, Stays in the Safe..
It would be Hard to Find a Better "All Around" Better Carry gun than the Airweight 642 IMO, The 342 Airlite Maybe?

An S&W 442 in either a Don Hume pocket holster or a DeSantis ankle holster. The little guy has been with me since long before my retirement and continues to feel comfortable as an everyday companion thanks to HR218.

Typically, a 36-2 with a bobbed hammer in a Blackhawk Speed Classic....sometimes a Dick Special in a El Paso #88. In hot weather I put my 37-2 into a Mika pocket holster. Road trips and high danger spots compel me to take a 9mm S&W 908 in a camera case. And for woods loafing I will usually bring my 3" Ruger SP-101 in a David Newcomb rig.

- regards

My always gun is a 642. My primary "big" carry gun is either my 386 or a Beretta 96 Compact. I mostly carry the Beretta if I wear jeans, since I have a very nice IWB holster for it. I think the 386 will become my main summer carry piece.

In the summer months. It's an M638 with CTC LG-405s.

When it's colder, it's either a Model 40/M638/XD-9SC/SIG P220 Carry SAO as primary and a Model 40/M638 as a BUG.

In the summer, I often pocket carry a 340Sc. Ordinarily, it's a 1911 or G36 around town. In the hills or desert, its either a 686, GP100, or 4" Redhawk.

In town, it's a 1911/230 Hydra-Shok or a 38-2/FBI load.

In the hills it's a 5" 629 Classic with a 250-grain Keith bullet at 950 fps.

I recently purchased a Colt Detective Special, and am finding myself using it more and more for CCW.

Previously used a S&W 340PD, but I can't shoot the 340 nearly as well as I can the Colt. In addition, the 20 oz Colt with its bigger grip is fun to shoot at the range, whereas the 340 is just painful.

Also experimenting with a Glock 26. It shoots well, but so far I haven't been able to find a holster or carry technique that its comfortable for all day carry.

Depends on how I feel.

Quick trip out the door, the 640-1 loaded with GDHP (short barrel magnums) on the hip and a reload in my pocket. I shoot this one real good. (My daily on-duty backup gun)

Or, if it's not too hot outside; my Glock 17 (Duty gun). [Hard to beat this firepower when you really need it!] Not to mention the amount of trigger time I got on it.

On rare occasions, I strap on the tuned up Colt 1911 "smoke wagon", and two mags. I am probably walking around with a **** eatin grin on my face when I carry this one. For some reason I just love my Colt.

I recently picked up a 2" Model 10-6. I have been spending some time with it at the range, and for some reason I shoot the wheel guns better than the autos. [Because I slow down and concentrate more] As soon as I get around to it; I will qualify with it as an off-duty gun. Then, it will be my companion on trips around town.

I have spent many hours on the range over the past fifteen years. I am fortunate enough to be in a position that I carry daily, and train frequently; at my departments expense. But for off duty carry; my wheelguns give me the security without making me feel like I am just working in "plain clothes".

Go figure?

Most of the time I carry my model 640. Sometimes I carry a Glock 19.

Daily carry at the office is a 638-3, with a neutered lock. During enforcement operations it's a Sig P229 in .357. While off-duty and in the back country it's a 629-1 3".

Most of the time it is my TT (tactical tupperware) Model 32 in 357 Sig. 16 rounds (+2 modification) and very accurate. Am also qualified with my 686 2 1/2" that I feel very comfortable with my simple IWB holster.

The S&W 38/357 should work as well today, as it has for so long..........

A 640-1, or a 642, and a 2 1/2" M66-2 are all good choices. Here is a M66-2 that simply does well for me at putting rounds on target:

Concealed, I usually have a 1911 with me, but now and then I'll carry a 4" M25-5.
On those rare occasions that I open carry, it's usually a Vaquero.

I switch off between my Kimber Raptor and a 686-4 with 2.5" barrel. Two reloads for either weapon (Speed Strips for the Smith).

Have carried a Kahr PM9 for several years --but-- of late it has been my M&P 360. It carries great in my pocket and after years of all kinds of carry I've decided I prefer pocket carry and a VERY light J frame is the best!! My first 3 shots are 38+P and then the next two are 2 357mag. I'm sure this will be my carry choice for some time.

442 with the "FBI loads" routinely in the pocket. Usually augmented by a 4" Security Six .357/125 when out and about.

Don't expect trouble but still carry a spare tire and jack in the car, and keep up the insurance premiums. Tires and cars seem to have improved in my lifetime but human behavior seems to be in a race to the bottom some times.

I carry a 60-7 and a 4" 13-1 about equally; it just depends on what I'm wearing.

331 32 Magnum pre lock. I bobbed the hammer a few days ago. Been carrying it close to four years.

Usually rides in my front pocket or jacket.

Model 12; two inch and four inch versions. Generally, you carry them more than you shoot them. Accurate and slow in 38 special works for me; no overpenetration issues in urban environments.

99% of the time I got the little 649 38 special in my pocket. Weekends will be my 1911 pistol or a 629 3 incher.

For semiautos Glock 23 or 19.
Revolver S&W-36 3" or S&W-60-15 3".

I almost always carry my 342Ti but have been known to carry my 642 from time to time..
I rarely carry anything heavier but do hip carry my 940 sometimes..
I don't carry an Auto anymore, Used to have an HK P7M8 that's realy flat fast & accurate but sold it & moved on..
I have a realy nice Beretta but would figure it weighs more loaded than all three of my S&W Centennials

I carry a Kel Tec PF9, because I can dump seven 124 gr HP's down range and reload faster than I can my five shot J Frame. Plus I don't care if it gets dropped or damaged. When I feel fancy I might pack a $1000 revolver but usually it stays home to guard the safe.

432PD (.32 H&R Magnum)with a Seecamp .32ACP as back-up front pocket carry for both. As it gets colder, I'll probably go with my H&K P7 as the primary.

Regards,

Dave

Almost always carry one of my Sigs, but when I do want to carry a revolver it is a 640-1 or a Nickel 36 with a Tyler. I spend a lot of time fussing and obsessing over the revolvers though, and very little time on the Sigs. Interesting.
