Ok fellow j framers, I'm looking for grips for my blued and stainless j frames. I would like to see some of yours to get an idea of what looks good on the stainless and the blued j frames. Any suggestions on where to buy them at would also be appreciated. Show me your J's. Thanks Jimmy

What model is this? I really like that. Is it late enough to be rated for +p?

Thanks.

Here are some pretty standard and functional grips on 3 J Frames. The top 2 are from Uncle Mikes, the bottom is an Eagle Secret Service.

The 649 on the left has Micartas and the 442 has Hogues. Both work well with plus p loads.

BlackSky, explain to me how you got those Ajax grips to fit that 40-1? I want different grips for mine, but they won't fit the semicircular radius due to the grip safety. Any info would be appreciated; meanwhile, I'm just waiting on the custom grip makers to do something.

I just took a dremel to the grips and shaved down the semi circle area you mentioned until they fit. Took about 10 minutes to do both sides, super easy.

A unique pair by Eickelschulte, Quincy, IL - from about 1978. These pre-date the short butt style from Spegal or Rogers/Hogue.

I got these from CDNN for 10 bucks. They are round to square targets and they fit my hand like they were meant for it.

Smith & Wesson RB Combats on top, Nill on bottom. Each of these covers the backstrap, which aids me in shooting, though neither is the best for pocket carry. The Nills are my absolute favorite grips, I have never tried a pair that didn't make the firearm feel like an extension of my hand.

Got 'em from www.gungripsupply.com Great grips, but not S&W factory.

Another set of the inexpensive HideOut Grips. These are on a 642 carried every day for years and they've been relieved to work with speedloaders.

Yeah, I guessed they were not factory but I like customs that resemble originals. Those look good to me. I am looking for a set for a 642. Will these work well for a females (smaller) hands?
