This holster was made by Bill Grover from Texas Longhorn Arms Inc.
Bill Grover made some real neat single action revolvers. I believe he passed away in 2004.

Here is some of mine from Milt Sparks. Not enough room for the rigs I have from Alessi, Bulman, Del Fatti, Garrity, 5 Shot and Nossar. Enjoy!

whitecoyote, that Grover holster is still made by Ted Blocker as the CC-1. It's on their website under Concealment Belt Holsters.

Feralmerril, thanks for looking, sorry you went to all that trouble for nothing though. I really appreciate anyway. You got one slick looking revolver on your hands my friend.

Here are two holsters I picked up yesterday at the fun show! Both seem well made. The carving is deep and very nice.

I have never heard of the maker, Roy Welton, Welton Western Wear.

Any of you holster junkies know anything about them, have any of their leather?

Thanks, Preston

This Galco design is very tough to beat. When worn with a non-tucked in shirt or sweatshirt in front it provides very rapid deployment and won't "print" your carry piece...

Here's a photo of the only Lewis shoulder holster I've ever seen-that's a Bodyguard with Executioner's elk stag grips in it.

Hello Roy Welton owner of Roy Welton Silversmith and leather work, Golden Colorado, What little I know of him was he was very old when I met him in the late 1980's he had done a lot of special one of kind leather holsters belts and silver buckles for Cowboy action shooters, Western actors and stars, I remember having breakfast with him and him telling me about the famous people in the movies that he had done work for, It's been a long time ago, but I remember him telling me about learning the leather craft I think in the US Army Calvary or something, I am guessing he was near 70 years old then, I just came across his busines card the other day so I googled his name and came up with your post asking. Hope this helps, my guess is your Holster was a special order one of a kind for someone, I have one similar to it that he made for a 30 Carbine Pistol I owned at the time.

A lot of you are probably tired of seeing my work by now, and a few of you are probably tired of me draining your wallets I like blued steel and basket weave. Most of these are customers but I tried to pick my very favorites:

2.5" K-frame:

4" L-frame rig, my personal favorite:

Flat latched Model 36:

My 5" Kimber:

6" K frame:

My first personal rig for my 4" 586, still one of my favorites:

A nice family photo. I still don't offer detail boning but these were my best attempts at it:

This is hands down my favorite rig though. It was my grandfathers made by Roy Baker, the inventor of the pancake holster. I have a lot of old Roy custom rigs from my grandfather as they were friends along with a few of his handguns. I call this rig 'ode de overkill'.

Eaglestroker, I have had several Roy Baker's in my lifetime and all have gotten away somehow.
A friend of mine passed away about a year ago and I was given a lot of his gun things and one item was a box of old holsters. Well lo and behold there in the box is an original Roy Baker Pancake holster for a 6 inch Ruger Blackhawk, smooth black finish almost mint. I don't
own a Blackhawk but I have kept it just because it is a Baker.
You do some very nice work, I really like the Kimber in the border stamped holster. I had a floral carved Myres just about like it that I foolishly traded for some stag grips. Keeping my eye out for another one.
Keep up the good work.

A Heiser Buscadero rig I have had for a while now. It honestly still squeaks like a new saddle.

Just one more and I will stop. Never get tired of this old Myres "jock strap" whipped stitched, elk lined and obivously floral tooled by his finest. Accompanied by my 29-2 with Kuracs.

Here's my Springfield Loaded Target in a holster made for me by Chad at CP Saddlery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

My 4053 in a Ross paddle holster. The holster was originally for a XD compact, so I added the tension screws to correct the fit as 3rd gen S&W holsters were few and far between.

Last but not least is my Browning HP with a Tex Shoemaker paddle holster. I loved this holster as it was very comfortable to wear all day and retained the firearm very well.

Default Here's one you don't see every day...

Model 1883 German Reichsrevolver with correct holster. The gun is in 10.6 German Ordnance caliber, which happens to be nearly identical to, and completely interchangeable with, the .44 Russian. I load for it and shoot it fairly regularly. I inherited it from my father. It has been in the family for as long as I can remember. I don't know where he got it.

Default P38 and holster

I got this pistol 30 years ago from a vet who brought it back from WWII. Sadly, he had terminal cancer and was disposing of his guns so his wife wouldn't have to do it after he died. I also got a nice kar98k from him.

The holster was made in 1963 and was made for the West German Army.

Default CZ75 with South African holster

I bought this holster at a gun shop in Vienna, Austria in 1988, during which time the US was boycotting goods from South Africa. The holster was manufactured by a South African company named Ross, and was not available here so I bought it as an unusual souvenir of the trip.

I got the CZ75 pistol in the mid-80's when US Customs first allowed a small lot to be imported from then-Communist Czechoslovakia.

Default S&W Model 19-5 and modified Bianchi #58H holster

The holster was originally for a 6" Model 19-4 that I had. I shortened the holster to fit the 4" gun after I sold the 6".

I should have kept the 6" too!
