I just picked up my new M&P 360 Chiefs Special. I then noticed that the trigger isn't centered in the trigger guard. At the bottom of the guard, the trigger is angling to the left. You can feel the end of the trigger and see it outside of the guard on the left and the right side it is in more than it should be. Is this cosmetic only or could their be a problem inside the sideplate with the action?

It sounds like a trigger post that is not mounted exactly perpendicular to the frame inside.

Either that or the hole for it bored through the trigger was drilled at an angle off of perpendicular.

Whatever, it is a quality control miss and I'd invoke the warranty to get it fixed. call S&W and get a call tag for pickup and you'll save it costing you anything including the shipping.

Without looking at it, I think you may have a bent trigger pin or stud, the pin that the trigger is mounted and pivots on. I had a 4 inch Model 63 that came like that. I returned it to S&W and they fixed it.

I suspect that all Smith will do is tap the trigger while still mounted in the frame to get it straight (the trigger pin will bend slightly back to necessary position).

I would send it back. I think it could be a safety issue, suppose you shoved it into a tight fitting holster......
