I recently picked up one of the new model 37-2 revolvers. It looked ok, but it needed its own personality, so I added some original walnut grips, and an old original Tyler T-Grip. It still wasn't quite right so I ordered a cylinder latch from the new classic model 40 from Smith & Wesson. Now she looks right.
The shoulder holster was made by Lou Alessi several years ago.

I recently traded into one of these and made the same changes except for the cylinder latch. If I can afford it, I may do the same as it does improve the look. How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking? I have fired mine with the factory rubber grips but I hope I can try out the wood grips soon. I got a rather good group offhand at 25 yards but I was high and left. Old eyes and a short barrel do present a challenge so it is probably me.

the 37-2 was 489.00. I picked up the grips for 30.00, the original T-Grip was 25.00, and the cylinder latch was 15.00.

Shooting a DAO 2" J-frame at 25yds I can't even hit the target, though I normally raise dust on the berm. I didn't know those sights even work at that range.

Pinky,
This WAS 30+ years ago when I had great eyes, but; We had a steel plate at 80 yds at our range. A BIG plate, 20" or so in diameter. I figured out that with my 2" M-60 and 148 gr wadcutters I dould hit it by aiming dead center, but @ 12 o Clock.
I won a hell of a lot of "pie and coffee" bets hitting that plate. ALL ya gotta do is watch that front sight.

It is amazing what a J frame can do at 25 yards and beyond in the hands of a cool hand. We had one guy at our club that could shoot his Model 36 single action into four inch groups at 25 yards on demand. The guns are generally accurate, they are just hard to shoot because the short distance between the sights really magnifies any sighting error at 25 yards.
