I recently aquired a very nice H/P. It has a 6" barrel and magna grips and standard matte blue finish. The markings are identical to every other H/P that I have seen except on the yoke under the serial number it says MOD.29-2. S/N is N5676XX.

Anyone have any idea what gives or when the gun was made? Numbers do match.

hondo - it hard to see but with the cylinder open, depress the ejector rod to the max - look under the ejector star and see if that serial number matches your frame serial number.

With so many models built on the same frame finding examples marked with the wrong model number is not difficult. I have personally seen numerous mismarked guns. It happens and doesn't seem to affect value one way or the other.
