I found a 36-9 pre lock Ladysmith during the lunch hour today. It is about 98%, slight turn line, some slight muzzle wear. Original box and docs, $400 OTD. How did I do?

This is for my girlfriend. She mentioned Saturday, that she had enjoyed shooting my revolvers more than her Inox 92FS. She said she wanted a Ladysmith. This one looked pretty good, and she deserves it.

Anything to be aware of with this J-frame model?

How does the frame hold up to alot of shooting?

Thanks! Regards 18DAI.

Edited to add: MJR, if you read this don't mention it to Sandy, it's a birthday present!

I have a flat latch chief's special (pre-model 36) that is more then 50 years old. It has a fair amount of wear on the outside. It is functionally fine.

I have no idea how many rounds it has seen as I bought it about a year ago, but I take it to the range frequently and I carry it. It works great.

My guess is that you should expect at least 50 years of use from that Lady Smith. The comes out to about $8.00 a year. I don't think that you can put enough rounds through it, even in 50 years, to wear it out. JMHO.
