I just picked up 15-3 that has had the hammer bobbed. How hard is it to find a hammer? Can I install it myself? Should I look here on the board, or just contact S&W? Thanks.

Have you ever had the side plate off?
Are you mechanically inclined, have good tools?
Can you read and follow directions?

You can do it!

I just went out in the shop and I have a stripped K frame hammer that is black {?} It's not std case hardened color. There are no parts in it but it looks good and unaltered. I think the pad is .400".
If you can transfer all the parts from your bobbed to mine, I'll give it to you and I'll cover the shipping
