Engraving
Hi Folks,
I am new here (just found the S&W forum) so I thought I'd post a pic of some of my work as an introduction.
I have been engraving 30 years (primarily hammer & chisel) and I am still learning!
Here is a 19-2 I did for a client a couple of years ago. The buckle is a bronze resin casting of an original work; reproductions are available for sale. Check farther down in this post for more info.
thanks,
Weldon

Hey Folks,
Thanks for all the kind words guys (especially to you who posted the pics). Got a new computer & having trouble resizing photos!
Thanks again,
Weldon
Hey, actually posted a picture...yee ha!
Here is a bronze resin casting of a buckle project I recently did. The original was engraved intaglio out of a piece of sterling silver 2"x3"x 1/8" thick. The work (a private commission) is my three-dimensional interpretation of a 1916 painting by WHD Koerner. I usually work with the hammer & chisel but on this project I busted out every tool & technique in the arsenal.
The shot of the silver on white background is the original...the bronze on black is the casting.
These were originally intended as study aids for engravers & show only the front, not the back, however they are also collectible. If you have an interest in getting one, email me either through the forum or my website for more info.

Welcome to the forum
Very impressive work. I have bookmarked your website, as I have been looking for an engraver to do my "Skeeter" project gun. It wont be anything nearly as elaborate as in your gallery (probably along the lines of factory B engraving) but there will be something about it to make it personal to me. I'll probably have to stop buying guns for a while to save up enough money though :-(.

Pricing
Hi Folks,
This has been mentioned a couple of times so: As far as prices go, all work is done & quoted on an individual basis and priced accordingly. If you have an interest in a project, contact me either pm or email & we can discuss your idea.
Thank you,
Weldon

I can sure see the influence of Gustave Young and L.D. Nimschke in your layout and scroll. This is an art form that is true. There are few who rise to this level and you have perfected your craft. That Model 19 and the 1911 are exceptional. And I really enjoyed the inlay on the SAA Colt. Thanks for letting us see your work it is a real treat.

Thank you, Not...Simple!
It is true that Young & Nimschke are a couple of my favorites. I consider myself a student of the art and my desire is to continue to learn as long as I'm able to do so.
Glad you enjoyed the pics,
Weldon

Weldon, welcome to the forum. I believe we met at the last Colt Collectors meeting in Houston with Paul Persinger. Your work is absolutely stunning. Once again, welcome. All my best, Joe.
