Default Model 12 with Tyler T-Grip

Hello,

I have a narrow frame Model 12-3 with a round butt (thanks Toroflow).
It is wearing a #3R Tyler T-Grip.

The T-Grip seems to move around a little bit. Is that normal? Do others use T-Grips on the narrow framed model 12s?

Also as a side note, can factory K-Frame combat finger groove grips be modified for use on a model 12?

I've got T-grips on a model 60 and a model 15. The one on the model 60 does seem to "move" around some, but I've never noticed it while shooting. The one on the model 15 seems pretty solid, but the metal "ears" have been bent around the grip frame. That's not how Tyler instructs on mounting them, but it was used when I got it.

I have a 12-2 with the T-Grips. It moves around a little bit, but does not affect how it shoots. It shoots really well. I've had the gun set up this way for about a year with no problems.

Tylers don't fit real well on model 12s. Try your other K frame grips, and I think you will find that they will be too loose as well. The Model 12 backstrap seems narrow, to me. John

They seem to fit on my model 18 OK. I just put them
on about a week ago and only shot it once. Thats
not a good test. I would call Tyler and ask their advice.

The Model 12 backstrap IS narrow, of course. My Tyler on my 12-2 SB does NOT move around. However, I seem to recall that over the years, I have had two or three Tylers, out of a couple dozen, that did move around some. Check the attachment of the copper strip to the body of the adapter? Be sure to hold the adapter firmly in place while gently tightening the grip screw?

Get rid of that T-grip for a K frame and try one for a J frame on that model 12-3.

I have one on my 12-2 round butt snubbie and it's as solid as a rock.

You might try wrapping a bit of electrical tape around the clips to take up a little slack. It worked for me when I was using a T-Grip on my model 12-3.
