Question S&W Model 36 3"

A buddy of mine has bought a S&W Model 36 3" barrel that he thinks is hard to find as it has the light barrel rather than the heavy barrel. Is there a difference in price between these 2 barrel types on a M36 3 inch?

Light barrels were as common as the later heavier barrels. He has found nothing rare.

Nothing rare but definitely cool.
The 3 inch J frame is often overlooked, but in my opinion (and we all know what THAT'S worth) the best 5 shot carry revolver there is.

Mods 60 & 36.

That Model 60 turns my crank more than does the Model 36! Thanks for the information guys as I had looked in the Blue Book and could not find anything about the light barrel being worth more.

Those aren't rare but just like everything that's not made anymore it gets a little harder to find a good one every year. They are a sweet little carry gun. This one is my wife's long time companion. It shoots well.

That's a nice one! My buddy's Model 36 is a RB like the one you have pictured.

Not rare, but less common than the HB, in my opinion. In a gunshop that would not add extra value, but maybe it would by a few bucks here on the classifieds...
