Need help....$1000.00 model 15-3 ?????
I'm working out of town, and to kill some time I stopped in a gun shop in this small town. They had a LNIB model 15 with the box, doc's and even the original sales slip. Their asking $1000.00. I'm not all that up on the model 15, but what do you think a fair offer would be?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Seems reasonable
If it comes with a spare 2" gun with 3000 rounds of ammo it might be spot on.
Otherwise, I'm guessing it's $500-600 too high.
I'm missing something lately, guns that would have sold for $300 just a year or two ago are being offered for tremendous prices, are folks really spending that kind of money or are there just a lot of insane "asking" prices?????

You didn't say how far out of town you were, so maybe there's a currency exchange issue. If that's American dollars, the seller is way off the mark.

I had a mint nickel 4" one with original stocks for sale on the classifieds two years ago for $325 shipped, and nobody wanted it.

$1000???? $500-$550 would be decent. But just because of their ridiculous price, I'd offer them $400!

I could see a 2" barreled gun bringing more than $500.00, but not much more.

$500 Tops! People are paying way
to much for guns. Look at the LCR people are
paying $500 + tax & BC and look how ulgy it is. Sorry
I may have stepped on some toes. Just my opinion. Don

Way too high both gun and seller
I have a fairly rare pre-15 I'd sell for that.

Yup. I saw a guy on another website trying to sell a standard 10-5 4inch for $625. Funny thing, he keeps reposting it!

I have a picture of it. My brother bought it for $300, after the original stocks were put back on. It amazes me how much prices have changed in the last few years, and not just since the election...

I noticd since the recession, there has been a ton more guns for sale. For a while model 1950 .357's were growing on trees over at gunbroker. I think the asking prices have come up to meet the feeding frenzy. Some of this stuff has been seen for while...at least not with this availability. Model 28's seemed to have doubled in price almost over night, but I still don't see any of the guns over $500 selling.

I wouldn't even pay that for a guaranteed-cold no-bodies-on-it no-paperwork model 15. That is twice too high.
