Default Help 10-7, Serial 5D16XXX

Long time lurker, new poster looking for some assistance. I have a chance to pick up a Nickel plated Model 10-7, 4 in barrel. The serial number is listed above. The problem I'm having is two fold. First, I'm trying to get a sense of the value. The blue book lists a 95% one as about $255+12=267. That seems low, but if someone could give an opinon, I'd love to listen. The asking price is $250. No box or papers.

Secondly, from the serial number, I think this is a late 70's version, but again, I'm not an expert. Any and all information volunteered is greatly appreaciated. I hope to share knowledge once I'm more of an expert, today, I'm more of a student.

Welcome to the forum. You should have started your own thread instead of coming in on Ohiosixshooter's but someone will probably give you a date. Also I believe the 39 is a semi auto so it should be in that section.

I think this is supposed to be in the autos section but...

This doesnt make complete sense to me but this is what I found in th SCOS&W for the model 39 (also the 41,46'52,59,422,439,449,459,469,539,539,559,639,645, etc etc....):

1970-1971 A115001-A156801
1972-1973 A145801-A174999

According to this it seems that A147XXX falls between both 70-71 AND 72-73

Welcome OhioSixShooter, if that model 10 is in good condition and I wanted one I would grab it at that price. I've seen some blue ones in what I would consider 85% and they wanted more for them. MHO.

Default Thank you!

Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards getting it. I certainly don't think I would lose anything on it down the road, would you agree/disagree? It's probably in 95%+ condition.
