S&W model 15-3
I recently acquired a model 15-3 produced in mid 1960s. Digging throught my ammo drawer looking for something to put throught it, I came across some 38 special plus P and some 38 special wadcutters. The question: Are there any issues using this ammo in the S&W 15-3?

Shoot the wadcutters for practice, the +P for "social purposes." Joe

I have 2 Model 15's. One is 15-2 and one is a 15-3. Neither have or will see very many +P's run through them. The 15-3 is actually my wife's and has been shot mostly with 148 HBWC's and a few 125 JHP's. The 15-2 has had a pretty steady diet of 158 LRN's and a few 125"s thrown in. Most of my shooting is done with mid-range loads to keep the wear and tear on the revolver down. Even in my N frames, I stay away from the full house loads except for deer hunting or defense loads. S&W revolvers are fine pieces of machinery and should be treated as such. I try not to over rev them too often. James

Plus P loads are actually fairly mild, and I would bet you could shoot a train car full of them through a 15-3 with no ill effects.
