Range report. Model 28-2
Howdy folks. Rather than dig up the old thread that I started when I acquired this gun, I thought I might start a new thread for the range report. I finally got to shoot it today with some of my reloads that I loaded to factory specs. They were 158 gr. HDY HP-XTPs loaded to 1250fps. I did not take a picture of the target, but was able to print softball sized groups offhand at 25 yards.
I am really loving this gun, especially since I got it for a song. (I know, the Pachs aren't correct, but they feel great on this gun!) I will take some target pics next time out.

Good looking six-gun ya got thereThe 28's are good shooters and the extra weight of the N-frame makes full power loads easy on the hand. Enjoy!

My M-28 wears Herrett's because S&W grips just don't fit me. My 6" is a blast to shoot.

Highway Patrolman Redux
I recently acquired a blued 4" Model 28-2 .357 magnum in pristine condition from a fellow member, adding to my small collection of N-frame revolvers, and replacing one I foolishly traded away some years ago. This gun has become my firm favorite in this caliber, and accompanies me and my 4" M57-2 .41 magnum to the range every time. Accuracy with factory loads is outstanding, making a mediocre shooter like me look good. I am really impressed by the standard of workmanship on this revolver, the quality of which is flawless in every detail. Would that today's offerings were such.

I carry a .357 28-2 4" for my duty gun. You can't beat a good N frame.
They just feel right and have the "look."

Thanks for the replies folks.
BreakerDan, It's good to hear that there are still some folks out there carrying wheelguns for their duty weapons. I agree that some guns just have "the look". I certainly wouldn't want to be looking down the business end of one of these!
