My department issued me a very used, badly refinished Model 15 Combat Masterpiece back on October 15, 1981, first week in the police academy. 4 inch barrel, blue finish, Magna stocks also worn and badly refinished.

Serial number was K522975. Factory marked on the left side of the frame, below the cylinder release, "SL Co SO #72". (Salt Lake County, UT Sheriffs Office)

I never shot it as I trained with and carried better guns.

I turned it back in during 1992. I had planned on buying it from the dealer we usually traded our used and evidence guns to, but the batch including mine went elsewhere.

I know the chances of anyone here having it are miniscule, but if by perchance someone does have it, I would pay a better-than-fair price for it, for sentimental reasons. There are a couple funny stories involving it.

I just purchased a 15-2 with a 4" barrel stamped S.L. CO. 33
In the exact place as you describe. But no "SO" or hash tag in front of the number. Not far from Utah I am in Southern Nevada.
