The Product Code on the label would help identify the gun. 170077 was the 686-4 PC Quadraport with four Mag-na-port trapezoidal cuts on a 2-1/2" barrel. If that's it, I recently saw one sell for $750 pretty fast.

Definitely worth trading your G26, mags, and ammo for this 686+ PC. You can always get another G26 later. S&W are not making any more revolvers that are pre-lock and with a hammer mounted firing pin.

"Trade" G26's are dime a dozen and in my
opinion ugly. That 686 is pretty, just look at
those grips. In my humble opinion trade. Don

I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. Like others have said, Glocks are everywhere. You must have a bunch of mags and ammo, cause no Glock is worth near what that sweet thing is. Unless it's a G18.

I'll be the party pooper. The ported barrel makes this a NO GO for me. I'd hold out for a 686P-4 2.5" - wait, I already have one. Never mind.

This will be 686 2.5" number 2. I have bought and sold more Glocks than I care to admit. I always come back to my wheelies and my Sigs.

Good deal IMO. I have a factory magnaported 60-10 and it definately make shooting .357's pleasurable.
Very nice and unique 686!

all the guns i have gone through,
when i look around here, all i see is sigs and smiths.
simple as that. and lots and lots of bubble wrap, which i am saving for any lawyers or other officers of the court who are forum members.
lol.
cajun, i just got 5 of the zurich switzerland police dept. 228 trades from dans ammo. all they say is germany on the side.
the guns feel as good as any custom shop gun from sig
going to wrap them in all my bubble wrap now

Got it!!
Well,
I did the trade yesturday, and it is beautiful!! It was not "mint" like he stated but had been fired VERY little. Either way, I am very pleased with it.
The PC is #170077 like a couple of you guys mentioned and the "Spec Ord." is #6172. It came with all the papers and original box. Someone wrote on the box "S&W Promo". Was this some type of promotional gun? Anyone have any history or how many they made?
Thanks for your guidence!!

Very nice!
Let me know when you're ready to sell, and I'll gladly take it off your hands.

I have no idea how many were made, but the Spec Ord code may translate to the 172nd day of 1996. The good book list the model as produced in 1998, but '96 could be correct.
Very nice gun!

Well I tried, but it seems PM is turned off for you, it does not give me the option.

You made a great trade. 686-4(what many consider the best of the breed) with what appear to be more S&W custom touches than magnaporting. Well done!
