Default Turn Around Time

I sent in to S&W my 686 to have the modification done. I asked for a quote to have it drilled and tapped while they had it there. What kind of turn around time can I expect and how much do you think will be the cost of the drill and tap for a scope mount?

Can't address the turnaround question. However, if you 686 is a recent production gun it'sr probably already drilled for a scope. One way to be sure is to open the cylinder and look for 3 tapped holes in the underside of the top strap.

First thing I checked was to see if it had been drilled and tapped by owner, since this is an early production model (no dash). Figured it would be best to have factory D&T while there for the modifcation.

It may take a while and I bet they put a new sight on it and it has the three hole setup like a new gun has.

Turnaround time for the modification only on my 686 no dash was less than 3 weeks, all at their expense. Of course the extra work you asked for will probably take extra time.
