Default Anyone Familiar with Lawman Leather Co's "Dirty Harry" Holsters

I was thinking of ordering a Dirty Harry Holster for my .460XVR, and was hoping to see if anyone here has or knows someone who has one. How good of quality are they and hows the fit? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks

The current American Handgunner has a short story about the holster.

Cool

I checked out the story in American Handgunner and it seems to be a pretty good holster from what I just read. Hope someone out in the forum has one that can give a first hand review of it......Thanks

Do a search - there were one or two rather long threads in the past....

Previous post.

have had one on order since May and it is due in any day now. This topic started some disagreements back in January when Jerry Ardolino posted some info here and was criticized for condemning the Blocker holster that appeared over a year after someone contacted him about making the Dirty Harry. I have heard nothing but praise for the holster, that's why I decided on the Lawman over the Blocker. Plus, the Blocker was almost $300 shipped. I paid $217 shipped for mine. They are a little bit more now and the turn around time is probably 5 months or so now. I will post a picture when I get it.

I have a 29 holster ordered. It will take around 4 months to finish. I spoke with the owner when I ordered mine (3 months back) and he sounds like a cool guy. He explained how 1 man makes the holster from start to finish, then it won't go out unless it's perfect. They even do a roll test to make sure the gun stays in the holster without it falling out.
The co is out of Las Vegas.

When I had questions, the owner himself called me back, well after "closing time" which was "above and beyond" and we spent 30 minutes or more on the phone.

I got all of my questions answered and I found Mr. Ardolino to be very thorough, helpful and nice. It is obvious he is interested in working hard to earn our trust on this forum, especially after a rather contentious thread on this forum a few months ago.

I was impressed enough with him to "put my money where my mouth is."

His policy is to bill your credit card for the holster at the time of the order, and that is made clear to any customer at the time of the order. Some on this forum objected to that practice, and that seemed to be a source of some of the negativity on earlier threads. I took a chance based upon the positive experiences reported here, based upon my telephone conversation with Mr. Ardolino and based upon a positive report by Mr. Ardolino's long-time friend, author Jerry Ahern.

I do not recall anyone reporting that Mr. Ardolino did not deliver the goods as promised.

UPDATE: As I said, I "put my money where my mouth is." I had a most enjoyable talk with Mr. Ardolino on the phone (he returned my call in his "off hours" and we chatted for over 30 minutes). He personally took my order, explained the price and the fact that my card would be charged at that time. He said I would receive my holster by December 7, which was about a 3 month or so wait.

Today, December 7, I received a priority USPS box from Lawman with my holster for the 6 1/2 inch Model 29. The holster smells great, is excellent quality and, in my opinion, just a better product than another maker mentioned here that was also offering a reproduction of the holster.

The neatest thing is that when I spoke to Mr. Ardolino, I explained my height and weight and expressed my concern about comfort (5'11" 207, and wear size 48 regular jacket). He said they had someone there about my size and would fit it to him. Now, I do not know if they in fact did that, but the holster required absolutely NO adjustment. I put it on and it fit perfectly. I am happy to report that Mr. Ardolino delivered exactly as promised, and I feel it is my duty to report such. I would NOT hesitate to order from Lawman again, and am sorry that some of you had reported negative experiences here. I had a positive experience, and would happily order from this company again.

Talking Ordered it and it will be done February 05, 2010

After reading your reviews I decided to go ahead and order one. I also talked to and ordered it from Jerry who was very informative and pleasant. He answered all my questions and told be about the billing and why they do it that way, as they got burned a few times after custom making a holster and then the person cancelled. So when it gets here in 5 months I will post a pic and give a report as to how it looks. Thanks for all the information that helped me decide on getting one. Also this Forum can sure smoke the ol' credit card by all the great information I have been getting on guns and accessories, makes things sure easier when you are weighing a decision and someone has something you want and they can tell you about it. Thanks

UPDATE-

My holster was shipped yesterday-pictures will follow when I get it. Wait time is now 19 weeks-mine was ordered in May and I was quoted 17 weeks. Ursula said for another $45.00, they will expedite it-12 weeks.

Fantastic holster. Blows the Bianchi X15 out of the water as to comfort.

Default Lawman Leather "Dirty Harry" Holsters

Keep your money in your pocket! I ordered one of these holsters from Lawman in May 2010. They immediately charged my card and gave me a delivery date of December 27, 2010. It is now May 2011 and still have received nothing! I have called them several times and, (yes the guy is very friendly), and they always apologize and tell me they'll get it to me in a couple weeks. This has been going on for over four months. I've come to the realization that these people are scammers and have no intention of filling my order. They charge your credit card, give you a delivery date well beyond the time limit to dispute the charges on your card and they keep your money and you get nothing! I am getting this message out to all the forums on this subject I can find and I'm also writing letters to all of the magazines they advertise in to expose these people. They'll steal your money!

Angry Hope You Get One if You Order it.

They may be filling "new" orders, BUT I ordered mine nearly two years ago. Many phone calls since the time it was supposed to be delivered. Nothing but excuses. Other threads have extensive listing of the recycled excuses. I guess they're hoping some of us just give up and go away. Check out the Las Vegas BBB rating - a big fat F.
