Default price check $350 used Model 60 (and DOB check)

My friend is selling a used Model 60-14, 357 magnum with a 2" barrel for $350. I plan on testing it out at the range tomorrow but it appears to be in good or very good condition. I really shouldn't buy another gun but is that a price that I shouldn't let pass me by? This would be my first S&W revolver. Also, I have no idea what the manufacture date is but the serial number is CFB3022. If anyone knows an approximate born on date I'd be grateful. And I think it has a lock on it because there's a little hole above the cylinder release with the letter L and an arrow next to it. Sorry to ask what might be dumb questions but there's no box, papers, or key lock with it and I can't find serial number info on the S&W website. Photo enclosed.

$350 is a great price. The serial number dates it to 2002. And yes, it has the internal lock. They all use the same key so getting another is easy.

Great buy, better buy it before it walks. Then the only other thing you will need is a "PLUG" for it. Just kidding, nice gun at a good price.

For $350.00, I hope the hell you are buying it, deals like that are really hard to find.

Okay you guys convinced me so I bought it today. I took it to the range yesterday and it worked although it brought me down to a whole new level of poor marksmanship. I fired a box of ammo and at 5 yards I missed the paper a couple times. Yikes! Trigger pull, muzzle flip. Obviously I'm going to need some practice to get used to shooting a revolver. Prior to this I've been shooting an XDM 9mm and a Ruger Mark II. A double action snubbie is a whole new ball game. However, I think I'm really going to like this gun as a CCW. Now I begin the arduous task of picking out a holster. Thanks to you all for the advice. I appreciate it.

Get yourself some snap caps, when watching TV etc just keep working the trigger, s/a and d/a. You will then get the feel of it, don't worry about accuracy that will come with practice, at first I would shoot plain old .38 specials, then +P. I have a 3 inch 60 and never shoot .357 mags out of it, many do, but you can call me chicken.

You really got a nice deal, congratulations.

Great price on that gun. If it is unlocked I would
not worry about a key. Don

You're right Hawkeye10, there's no key, and I'm not worried about it. I keep my guns in a safe anyways. And labworm yes I started the dry fire practice. I'm not using snap caps but I've been told they're not needed. The gun came with a box of .357 mags but I'm putting off trying those for awhile.
