Default Factory Bobbed Hammers

I recently purchased two M65 3 inch guns for a custom project. Both guns had bobbed hammers and both were identical in outside appearance.

One was on a 65-3 with double and single capability and the other was on a 65-5 and was double action only.

Question is did Smith and Wesson bob hammer or have them available. Both guns are years apart in manufacuture.

Any information would be appreciated.

Hi, S&W did have factory bobbed hammers. THey made them for DAO revolvers such as the model 65,64 and 37. NYPD wantedbobbed hammers on all their revolvers. Several security companies law enforcement agencies and prisons required the same.

i believe all S&W bobbed hammers are double action only, so the gun that can be cocked isn't factory if my info is correct.
Regards,
Rich
