OMG! It's another case of the Infernal Locque Fairey having his way with the unsuspecting revolver. It obviously vaporized the firing pin retaining pin, causing the spring to shove the fp out when the poor chap next held the revolver, in proper 'gangsta' style, with the muzzle rolled over and up as he cocked it or shot it DA. The insidious and dreaded IL at work!
Seriously, someone had to have the sideplate off and pulled that retaining pin out. Usually the friction of the fp's limit notch bearing on said pin keeps it from falling out. As said, an easy fix - especially if you find the pin.
