Default exchange hammer and ? on doa 64

thinking of purchasing a doa model 64. what is required to make it back to sa/da ?

I have never taken a revolver apart. So I carefully take the side plate off and rest is self explanatory? anything to be aware of or careful with. Besides the side screws...

Well, there is at least a fair chance the new hammer will fit and at least function as is. It may, or may not require fitting. I have installed a couple of hammer/trigger "sets" that required no fitting and worked pretty well. That may be the exception rather than the norm. The "sets" were not matched sets, but rather new factory parts ordered at the same time. This was in the '70's and early '80s.

e-gunparts.com has two different sizes for the weapon. Does the size refer to the hammer spur?
