Default S&W Model 65-2 Price check

1)Smith and Wesson model 65-2 four inch heavy barrel. P&R, original service grips, box numbered to the gun ( but no paperwork or tools) . The gun is UNFIRED , properly stored since new and is in 99.5% condition. Thank You in advance.

I bought a used 65-3 4" the other week for $380. It was in pretty good shape, mostly drawer marks. Are we in the $550 ballpark on this gun in question? Is it a store sale, friend, or the net?

The gun is a 65-2 P&R. Grips and box are numbered to the gun. I can tell that the cylinder was cleaned on only three chambers ( every other one) . the gun looks unfired and 99%. No owners manual or warranty card. The total price is 500.00

Well the SCSW 3rd Ed shows $400 for ANIB condition but you can also check on GunBroker to see what they are going for. Book values are tricky because some will get more and some less. The 4" HB 65's are great house guns and P&R guns usually bring a slight premium. The empty boxes themselves usually bring $35-50 on GunBroker. In my opinion if you could get this for about $50 less it would be a decent deal but ultimately it's your call. Hope that helps. NV79

Hi, I agree with NavyVet, $500 seems a bit high...but not so much that if you really like and want it that you shouldn't spend the money. By the way, the three chambers being clean is the usual sign of factory test firing, because they generally used every other chamber to do this.

In the end I would say go for it, it's never going to be made like that again and it's only going to cost more over time. If that is the gun you want then get it. I just bought a smith 66-2 snub for 425 because I wanted it, not because I was looking to save money.

Great I like happy endings. Besides as Smee78 said they don't make 'em like that anymore & they will go up over time. Hard to beat a 65 HB Smith. Except for concealed carry they really can do about everthing well. NV79
