J Frame Size Comparison
I picked up my new-to-me Sig P230 this evening and brought it home to meet my 432PD. The 432PD has been my regular carry piece but I think the P230 may take up some of that role now. Thought I'd snap a few side by side photos for a visual size comparison and share.
I must admit that the 432PD wins, hands down, in the weight department.

Nice little SIG & the carbon steel ones are muck lighter than the Stainless ones plus I like the way the P230 Looks compaired to the P232s cocking serations & the P238 is just plain Ugly IMO..
Nice Score!! Also That .380 Looks FAT sitting next to that 32..

I tried a P230 several years ago. Being a 1911 shooter for 4 decades, I am accustomed to a high grip, and tried that with the Sig. The slide took chunks of hide off my thumb and hand!
Be careful how you hold the Sig! They can bite.

Yeah you have to shoot them differently than a 1911. Once you get how to do it down they're a dream to shoot though. Folks with big meaty hands sometimes have bite issues as well. Thankfully I've got somewhat small hands and have never had an issue with my Sigs.

i had a ppks years ago, was only reliable with fmj. today im fine with that but back then it had to be a h.p. in my brainwashed days....
a few years ago i got a 232sl. was a superbly made gun. was heavy for the caliber and snapped quite a bit in recoil.
i guess i wouldnt mind having the 230 or 232 in stainless again, but i find i can pocket a J frame better and for the belt IWB my Glock 26 has no equal.
all that being said, the Sig 230/232 guns are what i would call the Seecamps of the midsized guns. craftmanship is top shelf.

I have an SMC 918, smaller than a PPK, lighter than the SIG, and you can carry with 9x18's.

I've always thought that the SIG .380s were some of the nicest looking guns out there. Good pickup.

P.S. Are you carrying those guns IWB? Or pocket carry?

The J frame with a Bianchi pocket holster and the P230 is IWB with a Crossbreed MiniTuck.
