Default Stiff trigger on a new gun

I found what appears to be a brand new, never fired 57-5 for a little less than an arm and leg so snatched it. The trigger is quite stiff. Is this the result of the safety lock and frame mounted firing pin? I'm happy to have the gun, but not as happy as I thought I would be.

Before becoming too disappointed, disassemble, clean and lube the gun. MAny come with springs that are unnecessarily stiff. These are inexpensive and easy to change. Lots of info on this board concerning improving trigger pull without sacrificing reliability.
