S&W "Kaboom"/ 626.
Good Morning, Friends,
A good friend of mine sent me some photos of a newer S&W 629 that had suffered a catastrophic failure. He asked me what could possibly cause such a massively damaging result. I believe that it was probably caused by a huge mistake in cartridge reloading, overcharge, or wrong powder, but would like to hear what the rest of you think. Further, do any of you know the circumstances of this actual situation, or know the results of it? Thanks, for any comments you can offer. Take care, and God Bless!
Every Good Wish,
Doc

These pictures surfaced about 6 months ago. You should be able to still find the old thread on the Forum.

Not quite six months ago, but several weeks back. Here's a link to a post I put up about 10 days ago after I tracked down the episode. Inside this link is another one to a tactical marksman's site ( Sniper's Hide | For the serious tactical marksman) where the photos and narrative seem to have appeared first.

Hi, Folks,
Thank you, very much, Gentlemen! I knew I'd get the right skinny on this, and didn't want to respond to my friend before getting the real facts on this episode. I will forward the necessary links, to that the truth will be passed along. Thanks, again, and God Bless!
Every Good Wish,
Doc
