Default Odd markings on Model 65

Group,
I just saw a 65-5 in a pawn shop with a logo on the right side plate that I've never seen before.

It has the letters "PM" (or "MP") inside a circle with the word "Metropolitana" underneath. Any ideas as what this means or which agency used this gun? There are no obvious import markings.

Thanks!

Hi Charles,

Sounds like it was from an export order for an overseas police department. I'm sure some more knowledgeable members can provide greater detail.

Actually I was thinking the same thing... I picked up a pristine Nickel Model 36 snubbie with correct box and papers from them. Good people to deal with..
