Default What Height Front Sight Should I Buy for My 620?

I have a Model 620 and that I purchased new a few months ago. Now I want to put either a fiber optic or tritium front sight on it.

When I shop for front sights on the S&W website or Brownells, I see that there are two standard blade heights available - .250 inch and .300 inch.

Which one do I need?

I know, I know... I should get out the gun and a pair of calipers, and measure it myself. But I don't have the gun with me right now, and I don't own calipers (yet), so I'm hoping some of the knowledgeable folks here may be able to give me some advice.

For what its worth, I think my 620 sights are basically set up exactly like a late model 686.

Thanks in advance.

I just checked the sight on my 620 with some digital calipers. From the rail to the very top of the sight it measured 0.274 inch. If you factor in the red insert being slightly lower than the top edge of the sight, I think you should be good with a 0.250 height sight.
