I've found a 681 no-dash on another forum that I'm interested in. I haven't seen it in person but the photograph looks like the CS-1 beadblasted finish. The owner says its the same finish as the CS-1 also. I believe the 681s were finished like the 686s and most of their other stainless guns. Has anyone seen or heard of a 681 coming out of ther factory (at least the first time) with a bead-blasted finish? Thanks in advance.

Could be an ex-PD gun that was ordered with the frosted finish.

I have a 686 that I had bead blasted right after I purchased it could be the same thing. I've had it for 19 yrs and the finish has held up pretty well.

When I had David Clements convert my 681-3 to .44 Special, I also had him do a bead-blast finish. I think it turned out rather nice...
